A reinterpretation of the Sekimori stone, said to have been conceived by Sen no Rikyū.
Bring the spirit of “wabi-sabi” into your daily life with this new form of “SEKIMORI.”

Made in Japan
Material: Pottery and rope
Dimensions: Height 11cm, Width 9cm, Depth 9cm

“SEKIMORI” is an initiative aimed at helping people rediscover the aesthetic of “wabi-sabi”—the beauty found in objects that have “served their purpose” or “been set aside”—by giving them a new role as “SEKIMORI.”

What is "wabi-sabi"?
It is a traditional Japanese aesthetic sensibility. "*Wabi*" refers to the richness of spirit that finds beauty and depth in simplicity, austerity, and imperfection.
"*Sabi*" refers to the beauty of heart that appreciates the way things age and fade over time due to the passage of years or weathering.

As a Protective Amulet...
“Sekimori-ishi” refers to stones placed on stepping-stone paths in tea gardens—a practice said to have been devised by the tea master Sen no Rikyū. In the etiquette of the tea ceremony, these stones are said to convey to guests the message, “Please refrain from entering beyond this point,” which is why they came to be called “Sekimori-ishi” (literally, “guardian stones” or “stones that guard the checkpoint”).
Because they signify “no entry,” they are now also used as protective barriers and talismans against evil spirits.

Place “SEKIMORI” in your entryway, living room, storefront, or workspace to use it as a talisman that protects your space from negative influences and evil spirits.

As a Good Luck Charm...
Created by tying various elements together with cord, "SEKIMORI" is an ideal good luck charm, embodying meanings such as forging connections, sealing agreements, bearing fruit, and leading to success.

As a Fortune-Boosting Item...
The cords used in "SEKIMORI" are all braided in a counter-clockwise (left-turning) direction.
Since the orbital motion of planets in our solar system—as well as the rotation of the sun, Earth, and moon—follows a counter-clockwise path, this direction is believed in Feng Shui to absorb and accumulate natural energy while fostering growth and expansion, making it an excellent item for attracting good fortune.
